What is MyDegreeCalc?

MyDegreeCalc is a free, web-based calculator designed specifically for UK university students. It helps you compute your weighted averages across multiple years, modules, and components, providing you with an accurate estimate of your final degree classification.

Whether you're tracking your progress throughout your studies or planning your final results, MyDegreeCalc makes it easy to understand where you stand and what you need to achieve your target grade.

How to Use MyDegreeCalc

1. Set Up Your Years

Start by selecting the number of years in your degree programme. For each year, you can set:

• Year label, such as "Year 1" or "Final Year"
• Year weight percentage, meaning how much each year contributes to your final degree
• Planned credits, typically 120 credits per year

2. Add Your Modules

For each year, add the modules you're taking. For each module, specify:

• Module name
• Credit value, such as 15, 30, or 60 credits

3. Add Components

Break down each module into its components, such as:

• Exams, such as "Exam 1" or "Final Exam"
• Coursework, such as "Essay 1" or "Project"
• Presentations, practical work, or other components

For each component, enter the mark you received from 0-100% and its weight within the module.

4. View Your Results

MyDegreeCalc automatically calculates:

• Individual module marks, weighted by components
• Year averages, weighted by module credits
• Your overall degree classification

UK Degree Classifications

MyDegreeCalc uses the standard UK undergraduate degree classification system:

First Class Honours

70% and above

Upper Second Class (2:1)

60% - 69%

Lower Second Class (2:2)

50% - 59%

Third Class Honours

40% - 49%

Note: Some universities may have slightly different boundaries or additional requirements for classification.
